Privacy Policy

🔒 The short version

Your image files are never uploaded to any server. All processing happens locally in your browser. We cannot see, access, or store your files — technically or legally.

1. What data we collect

Zapixx collects minimal data:

  • Usage analytics: Anonymous data about which tools are used (e.g., "HEIC to JPG tool was used 500 times today"). No file content, no personal information, no IP addresses stored.
  • Advertising cookies: If you consent, Google AdSense may set cookies to show relevant advertisements. See Google's privacy policy for details.
  • Contact form submissions: If you contact us, we store your message and email address to respond to you.

2. What we do NOT collect

  • Your image files — they never leave your device
  • File names or file metadata
  • Personal information (name, email) unless you voluntarily provide it
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers

3. How image processing works

All image conversion, resizing, and compression happens entirely in your web browser using JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas API. When you drop a file into Zapixx:

  • The file is read into your browser's memory
  • Processing happens locally on your device
  • The output file is created in your browser and downloaded directly to your device
  • No file data is transmitted to any server at any point

This is a technical guarantee — our servers have no endpoint to receive file data, and our code contains no upload functionality.

4. Cookies and consent

We use a cookie consent banner to comply with GDPR and ePrivacy requirements. You can choose:

  • Accept all: Enables analytics and advertising cookies
  • Necessary only: Only essential cookies required for the site to function

We implement Google Consent Mode v2, which means advertising and analytics are disabled until you grant consent.

Analytics data is retained for 14 months (Google Analytics default). Contact form submissions are retained until resolved. Advertising cookies expire per Google's standard schedule.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. Since we collect minimal personal data, most requests can be fulfilled by clearing your browser cookies and local storage.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Zapixx after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
